Indigenous Teacher Education Workshop

The Indigenous Education Teacher Workshop will be taking place at 11:00am before our National Indigenous Education Symposium on October 27th, 2024 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This workshop will bring together leaders in Indigenous-led post-secondary education, knowledge keepers, and aspiring teachers to engage in an interactive discussion to explore ways to develop pathways to accreditation for Indigenous teachers. Insights from these discussions will form recommendations on how to increase the number of Indigenous teachers across Ontario and Canada. By emphasizing the power of partnerships and collaboration, we aim to address the chronic shortage of Indigenous teachers and develop best practices that can be applied across the country.
